Presentation Overview
Temporary anchorage devices (TADs) are currently being used to distalize or mesialize dentition. Since the development of the orthodontic miniscrew, there have been reports of mandibular distalization to correct Class III malocclusion. However, it is not always possible to distalize the mandibular dentition due to the anterior and posterior anatomical limits of the mandible. In cases where mandibular distalization is not an optimal treatment option, we might have to consider maxillary protraction. In this lecture, various Class III cases using miniscrews will be presented along with some evidence-based literature.
