Dynamic Geological History of the Pacific Northwest

Presentation Overview

The geologic environment of the Pacific Northwest is so diverse and exciting to visit. Your speaker will take you all over the region that is controlled by the Juan de Fuca plate plunging underneath North America causing incredible volcanoes, wet and dry sides of the mountains, and very large earthquakes. The region was incredibly affected by the Missoula Floods from 15,000-18,000 years ago - a wonderful story. How was this beautiful and diverse region created?
